Pansar Drives Environmental Stewardship with 150 Native Trees Planted at Bukit Lima Nature Reserve in Collaboration with the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) and Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC)

22 July 2026, Pansar in collaboration with the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) and the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC), planted 150 native Ketiau trees today at Bukit Lima Nature Reserve, reaffirming our shared commitment to biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental stewardship.

The tree-planting programme brought together approximately 80 participants, including 30 representatives from Pansar and 50 lecturers and students from UTS. Our Pansar delegation was led by our Chief Operating Officer, Mr David, and our Head of Sustainability, Mr Raymond, while the UTS delegation was led by Sr. Dr. Kan Fock Kui, Dean of the School of Built Environment, together with lecturers and students from the School of Built Environment and the School of Business Management.

The initiative supports the restoration of Sarawak’s natural ecosystems by increasing native tree populations while providing participants with valuable hands-on experience in environmental conservation. Guided by officers from the Sarawak Forestry Corporation, participants also gained a deeper understanding of the ecological importance of indigenous tree species and the vital role forests play in maintaining biodiversity and ecological resilience.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Mr David, said: “Sustainability is achieved through collaboration and action. The programme reflects our shared commitment at Pansar, alongside UTS and the Sarawak Forestry Corporation, to promoting environmental responsibility through meaningful collaboration. By bringing together industry, academia, and government, the initiative demonstrates how collective action can contribute to the long-term protection and restoration of Sarawak’s natural environment.

The initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 15 (Life on Land), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). As part of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, Pansar remains committed to working with government agencies, educational institutions, and local communities to create lasting environmental and social value through impactful sustainability initiatives.
