Pansar was honoured to lead a delegation from Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd to visit Yanmar Co. Ltd and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. in Japan. The delegation led by Mr David Tai (GM – Business Division) and Mr Yeh Chin Un (Branch Manager – Bintulu) comprised Dato Mohammad Medan Abdullah (Group CEO, Bintulu Port), Hj Omar bin Salleh (COO), Mr Borhana bin Gani (GM) and Mr Halfi bin Ideris (PA to Group CEO).
The delegation visited Yanmar’s Amagasaki factory, the first factory in the world to produce small diesel engines in 1936. Today Amagasaki produces large diesel engines, gas engines, and gas turbines many of which are in operation in Malaysia. At Kawasaki’s Kobe factory, the delegation viewed the production of Kawasaki’s full range of controllable and fixed pitch propellers, azimuth thrusters, side thrusters, and their latest hybrid propulsion system. Pansar is integrating Yanmar engines with Kawasaki’s propulsion system in Malaysia.
