27 April 2026, Pansar proudly participated in a significant milestone in Sarawak’s sustainability journey with the launch of the Gas-to-Energy (GTE) cogeneration prototype at the Kuching Integrated Waste Management Park (KIWMP), an initiative led by Sarawak Wastes Management Sdn Bhd (SWM).
The project marks an important advancement in waste-to-energy technology, capturing methane generated from landfill waste and converting it into renewable energy. By transforming waste into a valuable resource, the initiative contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supports Sarawak’s transition towards a circular economy.
The launch was officiated during a site visit by the Premier of Sarawak, Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Abang Openg, who was briefed on the prototype’s capabilities and its potential for future expansion. The system is currently operating on a pilot scale and demonstrates promising scalability based on waste volume and continued development.
As part of the project, Pansar contributed the Yanmar neoTower, an advanced cogeneration system designed to convert waste gases into clean and usable power. The deployment of this technology reflects Pansar’s commitment to delivering innovative engineering solutions that support sustainable energy development in Sarawak.
This collaboration underscores the growing role of technology in transforming waste management infrastructure into integrated energy systems. It also reinforces the importance of partnerships between industry and government in advancing practical solutions for environmental sustainability.
Pansar is honoured to be part of this initiative and remains committed to supporting projects that promote cleaner energy, resource efficiency, and long-term sustainable growth. This initiative aligns with key Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) in advancing cleaner energy generation through waste-to-energy solutions, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) in driving innovative engineering appications for sustainable infrastructure, and SDG 13 (Climate Action) in supporting efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote environmental responsibility.
