Pansar HQ, Sibu – In an effort to prioritize employee safety and well-being, several prominent companies in the region recently participated in a comprehensive two-day workplace safety program. Organized by Mahagamy Consultancy and Advisory Sdn Bhd, the program aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively to sudden illnesses and accidents, ultimately ensuring a safer work environment.
13 participants from Pansar Company Sdn Bhd, Pansar Heavy Equipment Sdn Bhd, and Intra Emas Sdn Bhd joined the program, held on May 8th and 9th at the esteemed Starlink Hotel in Sibu. Notable participants, including Daesco Sdn Bhd, recognized the importance of prioritizing safety and took part in this initiative.
Over the course of two days, attendees received comprehensive theoretical and practical training in handling emergencies such as bleeding, fractures, burns, shocks, choking, and other sudden medical conditions. Moreover, life-saving techniques like cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) were taught to ensure that participants were prepared for any critical situation that might arise in the workplace.
The program went beyond theoretical instruction, offering participants the opportunity to engage in a life-like mock drill scenario. This exercise simulated a real-life emergency, allowing attendees to apply their newly acquired skills in a controlled environment. By engaging in such hands-on activities, participants gained practical experience, further reinforcing their ability to respond swiftly and effectively during crises.
One of the program’s highlights was the Assessment Certification, which provided a means of evaluating participants’ proficiency in first aid. The certification process consisted of a written examination, featuring multiple-choice questions, as well as a practical skills assessment. Those who successfully passed the assessment were awarded certification as competent first aiders, recognizing their abilities to handle emergency situations competently and professionally.
The Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) mandates that employers and self-employed individuals prioritize the safety, health, and welfare of employees and visitors in the workplace. By actively participating in the program organized by Mahagamy Consultancy and Advisory Sdn Bhd, these companies demonstrated their commitment to fulfilling these obligations.
Workplace safety is a paramount concern in today’s fast-paced and demanding work environments. Equipping employees with the necessary skills to respond effectively in emergencies not only ensures their well-being but also creates a culture of safety and preparedness within organizations.
The success of the program organized by Mahagamy Consultancy and Advisory Sdn Bhd serves as an inspiring example of the proactive approach being taken by these companies. It underscores the importance of prioritizing employee safety and the role that comprehensive training and certification play in achieving this goal. Such initiatives undoubtedly contribute to fostering safer workplaces and healthier communities overall.
