Raya Gawai 2024 Celebration at Pansar Sibu

9th May 2024, Pansar family in Sibu held a joint festive celebration of the “Raya Gawai 2024 Celebration.” This celebration was organized especially for our Malay and Iban colleagues. The event was held in the lobby of Pansar Sibu’s office. We especially thank our Top Management – Chairman Dato James Tai, Managing Director Pemanca Datuk Jason Tai, Director Mr. Clarence Ting and Chief Operating Officer Mr. David Tai for sparing their valuable time to attend. All staff members who were in Sibu joined in this celebration and several visiting outstation Senior Managers were also in our midst.

The event began with an inspiring speech by Chief Operating Officer Mr. David Tai, who emphasized the importance of our country’s rich multicultural society and encouraged the workforce to foster strong relationships and mutual respect among colleagues of different races. Following his speech, staff members enjoyed a variety of delicious dishes and Sarawak Kek Lapis. All the food prepared was Halal, including traditional Malay and Iban cuisines.

A fun part of the celebration was the Best Dress Competition. Staff members were encouraged to wear their best traditional Malay and Iban costumes. The competition showcased the beautiful and unique outfits from these cultures. The winners were Dina Ak Changkok for the best-dressed woman and Abang Ikhwan Bin Abang Hasnan for the best-dressed man. Dina wore an elegant Iban outfit with traditional accessories, while Abang Ikhwan wore a sophisticated Malay ensemble. Both winners received applause from their colleagues and Green Packets.

The Best Dress Competition brought several positive outcomes. It helped staff bond over shared cultural experiences and increased awareness and appreciation of different traditions. By celebrating the festivals and the traditional dress competition reinforced the company’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity.

In conclusion, this year marks the second annual celebration of Hari Raya and Gawai at Pansar Sibu. We look forward to continuing this celebration in the future, strengthening our multicultural workforce, and fostering unity among our colleagues.
