Pansar’s Family Day and CSR Program: Kuching Treasure Hunt and Tree Planting Collaboration with Padawan Municipal Council (MPP)

15 and 16 September 2024, Pansar Staff Club organized a two-day event combining Family Day celebrations with a meaningful CSR initiative. The event brought together Pansar staff from Sibu, Miri, and Bintulu, who drove to Kuching to participate in the activities. The Family Day on 15 September featured an exclusive Kuching Treasure Hunt for Pansar staff and their families, followed by a tree planting activity on 16 September at Batu Kawa Riverbank Park in collaboration with Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).

The Kuching Treasure Hunt on 15 September was a fun-filled event, bringing together Pansar staff and their families for an engaging city-wide scavenger hunt. We were divided into 9 groups to participate in the activities. Teams worked together to find specific locations, take photos while holding the Malaysia and Sarawak flag, fostering teamwork and family bonding in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

On 16 September, Pansar Staff Club collaborated with Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) for the CSR tree planting event at the Batu Kawa Riverbank Park. A total of 160 participants, including Pansar staff, Perbena Emas staff, and members from MPP, joined to plant 800 trees. Three types of trees, shrubs, and groundcover were planted, including Bucida Tikus, Happiness Tree, and Rain Tree, while the shrubs and groundcover featured Ruellia Simplex and Shefflera Arboricola Cultivar. The involvement of families further enhanced the spirit of unity and environmental responsibility.

Before the event started, Mr. Raymond Ngu Choon Wu, President of the Pansar Staff Club, announced the winners of the Kuching Treasure Hunt held the previous day. He also congratulated the participants on their enthusiasm and teamwork in completing the hunt, and gifts were presented to the winning teams.

After that, in the opening remarks, Mr. Raymond Ngu also highlighted the importance of gathering staff from various branches for this tree planting event, emphasizing the collective responsibility toward environmental preservation. Cr. Tan Kai, Chairman of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), expressed his gratitude for Pansar’s collaboration and encouraged more organizations to participate in similar sustainability efforts.

Participants were provided with gardening gloves, and tools such as watering cans, shovels, garden trowels, and garden hoes were made available to assist in the planting. Families, particularly parents and children, actively participated, turning the activity into an educational experience on the importance of environmental care. This initiative supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 15: Life on Land, which focuses on protecting and restoring ecosystems. Pansar continues to lead the way in combining family-focused activities with impactful CSR programs, ensuring that both employees and their families contribute to meaningful initiatives that benefit the community and environment.
