Pansar Staff Joins Hands for a Beach Clean-Up at Luak Bay Esplanade

Miri, September 1, 2023 – In a remarkable display of unity and commitment, around 90 dedicated employees of Pansar Company Sdn Bhd gathered at Luak Bay Esplanade in Miri, Sarawak, for a meaningful beach and ocean clean-up drive.

Accompanied by their families and supported by business partners from Chubb Insurance, the team arrived early in the morning, ready to make a positive impact. Together, they successfully removed an impressive 328 kilograms of waste from the area. Notably, a significant portion of the waste, weighing 204 kilograms, comprised plastic items—a pressing issue along the coastline. The remaining 124 kilograms were made up of non-plastic items like bottles, glass, and paper.

This clean-up initiative went beyond mere waste collection; it also included an essential educational aspect. Three dedicated staff members took the responsibility of educating young participants about the critical importance of environmental conservation. Their aim was to instil a sense of responsibility and awareness in the younger generation, paving the way for a sustainable future.

The collected plastics hold immense potential for recycling, leading to the creation of various products such as foldable plastic stools, souvenirs, and corporate gifts. This beach cleaning campaign is an integral part of the Pansar Staff Club’s broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, focusing on environmental preservation and promoting the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R). It underscores the company’s dedication to sustainability and responsible corporate citizenship.

Beyond the immediate impact of cleaning up Luak Bay, the program serves a dual purpose. It not only contributes to the cleanliness and beauty of Miri but also acts as a powerful tool for raising awareness about environmental conservation. Through such initiatives, Pansar Company Sdn Bhd aims to cultivate a culture of greater environmental awareness and responsibility, reflecting their dedication to making a positive impact on both the local community and the environment.

This impactful program has gained recognition in the local newspaper.
