PANSAR spearheads eco-friendly water harvesting

How many times have we looked at the pouring rain and wondered if we could better harness this H2O bounty from Mother Nature? Here at PANSAR, instead of just wondering, our engineers with aid of cutting edge technologies from our global partners, have transformed such wondering into action.

As part of our continuous effort in ensuring the sustainable development of our natural resources, we launched the PANSAR Eco Rain Harvesting System in Bentong, Pahang in February. This joint initiative with our global partner DAVEY was supported by IEM and the Ministry of Housing & Local Government.

It entails the collection of rain water from the Kampung Sungai Penjuring’s community hall for non-essential usage such as general washing, toilet flushing and the watering of plants. Although the initiative is largely driven by growing environmental concerns, it is also a means for villagers to cut down on their water bills as the taps are “open” for public usage.

With Rainbank I installed on top of Davey pump, it serves as an intelligent “brain” which switches automatically between rain water and mains supply. Whenever the rain water tank dried out, it draws water from mains without re-pumping and this saves energy too.
