4 December 2025, Pansar donated a total of 10 units of Mercury outboard engines, comprising the Mercury 2-Stroke 5HP MH and Mercury 2-Stroke 9.9HP MH Light models, to support Sibu communities as part of preparedness efforts for the year-end monsoon season. The communities were identified based on local needs highlighted by YB Dato Seri Tiong King Sing (Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture).
The handover was carried out by Pansar representatives, including Mr Ngu Toh Heng (Pansar Sibu Branch Manager), Mr Raymond Ngu (Head of Credit and Inventory), and Mr Pau Keak Ing (Head of Risk Management and Administration). The engines were received by YB Dato Seri Tiong King Sing’s representatives, Ms Agatha Ting and Mr Mike Yong (Special Duties Officer), together with representatives from the respective communities, who were present on the donation day to collect the engines for each community.
The Mercury 2-Stroke 5HP MH outboard engines were distributed to several Village Safety and Development Committees (JKKK) in the Dudong and Durin areas, as well as to the local rescue team, to support community-level response efforts. Meanwhile, the Mercury 2-Stroke 9.9HP MH Light outboard engines were distributed to residents in the Sungai Pak Bumiputera area, the Da Wang Kong Buddhist Association, village communities in Ulu Durin and Naman, and the local rescue team, to further strengthen emergency preparedness across different segments of the community.
During the monsoon period, heavy rain can disrupt mobility, isolate neighbourhoods, and restrict access to essential services. The outboard engines will enable safer and more efficient movement along waterways, facilitate the delivery of essential supplies, and support evacuation or assistance operations when required. Through this initiative, Pansar aims to help communities remain resilient and better equipped to manage challenging weather conditions.
Pansar supports the Sustainable Development Goals and is committed to achieving them, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), by contributing resources that strengthen community resilience, support emergency preparedness, and promote safer living environments.
