MIMEX 2018

Pansar Company Sdn Bhd (PANSAR) & Yanmar Asia Singapore Cooperation (YASC) jointly exhibited in Malaysia International Maritime and Offshore Expo (MIMEX) 2018 in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 7-9 November 2018. It was an international maritime and offshore industrial annual event, a business platform to meet the potential customers and strengthen Yanmar’s brand awareness in Malaysia.

The exhibition showcased Yanmar’s latest technologies – “The engine system that meets the tightening emission regulations”. The technologies include Yanmar’s very own Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR), Ultra-Low Fuel Consumption 2-Stage Turbocharging System and the new Dual Fuel Engines. According to IMO emission standards, vessels with a keel-laying date on or January 2016 have to comply with NOX emissions reduction by approximately 75% and an engine output of ≥130kW.

Visitors visited the booth were impressed by Yanmar’s latest technology, especially new Dual Fuel Engines. The exhibition was a fruitful event for both YASC and PANSAR. The outcome exceeded everyone’s expectation and received positive feedbacks. The marketing objectives had been well achieved.

Malaysia aims to capture two per cent of the global shipbuilding industry by 2020 from one per cent in 2010, President and Chairman of the Association of Marine Industries of Malaysia (AMIM) Tan Sri Ahmad Ramli Mohd Nor said. Over the medium-term, demand for all offshore vessel types is expected to increase by 3.7% per year on average over the next ten yearsdriven by the developments of deep offshore fields. Currently, there are over 80 active shipyards in Malaysia specializing in building steel, aluminium and fiberglass vessel especially for near coastal and OSV type of vessel. Malaysian-made vessels are exported world-wide mainly to its neighboring country – Singapore and Indonesia, and including Middle East, Europe and Australia.
