By Eddy Puah SIBU: With the successful launching of harbour tug Samalaju Jaya, there are now nine work boats powered by YANMAR in Bintulu Port. The 10th harbour tug to run on YANMAR marine engine is scheduled for completion by the middle of this year.

Pansar Berhad, YANMAR's marine engine distributor in Malaysia, and YANMAR ASIA SINGAPORE CORPORATION PTE. LTD. (YASC) worked hand in hand to organize a launch ceremony and sea trial of a ferry boat fitted with the YANMAR 12AY engine on September l9 to 20 at Langkawi in western Malaysia.

SIBU: Pansar Company Sdn Bhd yesterday confirmed that the operations of its Japanese partner - Yanmar - were not affected by the earthquake and tsunami that flattened Japan's northeast coast. "The operations of Yanmar have remained unaffected and intact," said a Pansar press release.

SIBU: In a close collaboration between Pansar Bhd (Pansar), Yanmar Group and the local shipbuilding industry, the first 12AYM high-speed marine engine from the latter is being commissioned here. The environment-friendly 12AYM engine, which is International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Tier II compliant, meets the stricter emission standards imposed by the IMO.

The reverse takeover of PWE Industries Berhad by a new controlling shareholder, and its subsequent renaming to Pansar Berhad, will soon see the listing and requoting of the new entity’s 280 million ordinary shares of 50 sen each.
