With the constant strive to “go green” these days, various organizations are venturing into products that aid to propel people to a more cost effective living yet at the same time preserves the environment. Pansar is also one of them.

Recently Pansar carried out trials and set up two pairs of solar water processors (Carocell 3000) in two locations – Kg. Sebako in Pulau Bruit and Bario.

With extensive research and development of this product from Australia, any water feed can be fed into the panels to produce clean, potable water through the desalination process.

Residences in both locations have tried and tested the water produced with favourable responses.

“This is amazing! Brown, dirty river water comes out as clear, drinking water. We need more of such technologies,” said one resident from Kg. Sebako.

“I do not dare to try the water, even though it looks clean and clear,” said another from Bario. However, seeing our own team from Pansar drinking the clean water, he too braved his conscience and had a go at it to find his heart at rest with the assurance and quality of the potable water produced.

We hope to be able to market this product as a sustainable method to produce clean, drinking water without the expense of the environment. The Carocell 3000 ensures no additional pollution to the environment and at the same time assures quality drinking water that has been proven to conform to the National Water Quality Standards for Malaysia.

“The operations of Yanmar have remained unaffected and intact,” said a Pansar press release.

Yanmar, founded in 1912, is a globally renowned manufacturer of marine and industrial engines.

Its headquarters and major manufacturing facilities are based in and around Osaka, Japan and other parts of the world.

For close to half a century, Pansar has been building up a strong business relation with Yanmar in numerous fields such as marine engines, power generation, agricultural, industrial engines and construction.

“While we are relieved that our long-time Japanese partner, Yanmar, has escaped the full brunt of the tragedy and all their operations are running as usual, we are nevertheless deeply saddened by the devastation and loss of human lives,” Pansar’s Marine and Industrial Divisional manager LF Ting said in the statement.

In offering the group’s deepest condolences and prayers, Ting was optimistic that the Japanese people who had exhibited such discipline, courage and honour in the face of such adversities would bounce back and become even stronger.

“As we share the sorrow of the Japanese people, we are awed by their indomitable human spirit.”

“It is something that all of us at Pansar are learning from, and we stand humbled before them in this lesson of life,” he said.

Meanwhile, for details on Yanmar’s production and operations, clients may call Pansar on 084-333366 and ask for the Marine and Industrial Division.

SIBU: In a close collaboration between Pansar Bhd (Pansar), Yanmar Group and the local shipbuilding industry, the first 12AYM high-speed marine engine from the latter is being commissioned here.

The environment-friendly 12AYM engine, which is International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Tier II compliant, meets the stricter emission standards imposed by the IMO.

After extensive research and development for this category of main engine, Yanmar rolled out its first pair, which have since been fitted onto the Coral Island 1, a fast passenger ferry that is currently being refurbished at a local shipyard.

“Our Pansar partners have shown a high level of discipline and commitment in ensuring the best for their clients and we are proud to be in Sibu to lend our expertise in the commissioning of this latest high speed marine engine,” said Fujkimoto, who is manager for customer satisfaction in Yanmar’s engineering department.

Yanmar Asia Singapore Corporation’s managing director Naoya Umegaki also dropped in at the shipyard to get a first hand account of work progress.

Accompanied by Pansar Bhd’s managing director Jason Tai, Umegaki spent more that two hours going through details and inspecting the engine room with engineers from both Yanmar and Pansar.

Umegaki pointed out that Yanmar was proud to collaborate with Pansar and the local shipbuilding industry in the commissioning of the engine.

“We have confidence in Pansar and the local shipbuilding industry’s expertise, hence Sibu was an obvious choice for us in the commissioning of this latest engine,” he said.

According to him, the Coral Island 1 was the first vessel in the world to be fitted with the latest high speed marine 12AYM engine from Yanmar. After its sea trial and commissioning, it will be operating from its home port of Langkawi.

The reverse takeover of PWE Industries Berhad by a new controlling shareholder, and its subsequent renaming to Pansar Berhad, will soon see the listing and requoting of the new entity’s 280 million ordinary shares of 50 sen each.

Speaking on behalf of the new Board, Pansar’s Managing Director Mr Jason Tai Hee described this as appropriate recognition of the Company’s progress to its next growth phase, given the timing being just ahead of Pansar’s half-century milestone year.

PANSAR was founded in 1961 by Tan Sri Dato Sri Tai Sing Chii whose bold vision, hard work, determination and perseverance transformed the humble hardware store in Sibu, Sarawak’s second-largest town, into the successful, sustainable, diversified and respected business group and community icon that it is today.

“Guided by that vision and ethos, and powered by a tradition of customer commitment, our seasoned and dedicated management team is turning PANSAR into an innovative and integrated solutions, systems and engineering company,” Mr Tai Hee said. As examples, he added that the Company has successfully installed large-scale air-conditioning systems, marine engines for ships of various sizes catering to various industries, power plants and rural electrification generator-sets, and roofing systems.

Mr Tai Hee, 47, is the sole executive director in the energised all-new Board chaired by Dato’ James Tai Cheong, with others being Mr Ting Ing Horh, Mr Ling Lee Chuon, and with Mr Stephen Chin Yun Chieh and En Azman Bujang as the two independent directors.

Pansar Berhad (www.pansar.com.my) is a trading and engineering company with a strong fifty-year track record centred on established world-renowned brands and backed by people with strong values, diverse experience and proven expertise. This adds unmatched value to innovative solutions it designs, installs, commissions and maintains for airports, hospitals, industrial complexes, oil and gas companies, power utility companies, shopping malls, universities, large commercial and residential buildings, and others in Malaysia and beyond. It will be requoted on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia under the stock code “PANSAR” (8419).

SIBU – Paddy farmers were shown ways and means to improve their planting with a rice transplanter that has been tailor engineered to tackle challenging Malaysian soil conditions.

At a recent seminar and live demonstration in Alor Setar, Pansar showed that its Yanmar VP6X could tackle deep uncompromising or poorly ploughed soil that left some transplanters immobile and ineffective. It was also able to plant neatly and within the stipulated distance thereby ensuring higher percentage of area planted.

Pansar through its global alliance with Yanmar has been introducing total solutions packages for various industries such as agriculture, marine and power generation by harnessing cutting edge technologies.

More than 100 people comprising of farmers, villagers and government officials from various departments and agencies turned up for the event. Among those present from the PANSAR YANMAR team were Kazuto Ishioka, Hideki Ueda, Hiroyuki Nakagawa, Goh Chin Hhat, Christy Roger Simon and Albert Teng Lung Wui.
